The Story

In the seas of time the Toki Chickens lost their ability, but never their will to fly. So when they stumbled onto a levitating crystal, they devised a crazy plan: taking their home world to the skies. The Ancient Frogs warned them about the crystal’s danger, but alas, they were banished from the capital city for talking too much.

And so the entire forest became a floating island. Which was nice for a while… until all hell broke loose. With the weight of the world on its back, the overheating crystal began spewing a deadly black goo, and the Toki hurried to abandon ship.

Which brings us to the current day, with the Ancient Frogs sending their telepathic message to young Toki Tori. Could he ever reunite the Frogs, destroy the crystal and restore the environment? What will happen when the island falls from the heavens? Play Toki Tori 2+ and find out.

Toki Tori 2+ is a Metroidvania style puzzle adventure. There are no tutorials, there's no hand-holding, no-one tells you what to do in Toki Tori 2+. The fun is in exploring and overcoming the obstacles of the lush forest island on your own merit.

Toki Tori 2 is a puzzle platform game, developed by Dutch video game development company Two Tribes. It is the sequel to the 2001 game Toki Tori. The game was originally announced in December 2011 with an intended release for Spring 2012 for Steam and iOS devices (and was later announced as a Wii U game), but the game was pushed back due to longer than expected development times. The game was released on April 4, 2013 for Wii U and on July 11, 2013 on Steam for Windows and for Mac OS X.

On September 12, 2013, an updated version called Toki Tori 2+ was released for the Wii U, adding new music and puzzles. Toki Tori 2+ made its Linux debut with Humble Bundle X launched on January 3, 2014.The game was later released in Japan and published by Rainy Frog on September 3, 2014. Toki Tori 2+ launched for the Nintendo Switch on February 23, 2018.

Gameplay

The gameplay in Toki Tori 2 is very different compared to its predecessor, the main difference being the absence of items for Toki Tori to use. These are replaced by two skills that Toki Tori has during the game that are used to manipulate the environment and the creatures within it, the first one being Whistle which generally causes creatures to move closer to Toki Tori as well as being used to whistle songs that perform various actions. The other ability available to Toki Tori is Stomp. Stomp generally scares creatures into moving away from Toki Tori as well as breaking some parts of the environment. There are also other elements that make up the game, for example if Toki Tori walks into water his feathers will become wet which can then be used for other tasks such as walking through cut grass while wet will cause it to grow so it can be used.

The game also features various features that are new to the series, one of these features being the Tokidex. The Tokidex is one of the collectables in the game, as the game is played the player can use a song to bring up the camera which is controlled via the Wii U controller (or through the keyboard on the computer version). This camera is then used to take pictures of the creatures that appear in the world, the player is rewarded for collecting pictures of every creature in the game.

Toki Tori 2+ est la suite du jeu éponyme, un jeu de plateforme et de réflexion dans lequel le joueur incarne un petit poussin jaune qui tente de sauver son île d'une masse visqueuse noire. Son gameplay diffère néanmoins significativement de son prédécesseur dans la mesure où dans cet opus il n'y a pas d'objets à ramasser, mais à la place, 2 compétences qu'il pourra utiliser pour manipuler son environnement : siffler permet d'inciter les autres créatures à s'approcher, ou stomper (NdT : frapper le sol) pour au contraire les effrayer et les faire s'éloigner.

Toki Tori 2+ est un puzzle d'aventure dans lequel vous explorez une île luxuriante couverte de forêt habitée par des créatures étranges. Sifflez et pédalez pour influencer leur comportement, et résoudre ses puzzles. Mais qu'est-ce qui se passe avec cette masse visqueuse noire ? Elle menace votre monde !

Notre peu probable héros jaune pourrait être la star du spectacle, mais il n'ira nulle part sans les créatures qu'il rencontre en chemin. Vous pouvez siffler et taper du pied pour les influencer, et utiliser leurs compétences à votre avantage. L'histoire prend forme à mesure que vous jouez. Votre but est d'aller au cœur de la corruption et sauver votre île !
