Build your squad of droids!
With the aid of your trusty transfer beam build up your own squad of droids, armed with the latest hi-tech weaponry including lasers, rockets, grenades, flamethrowers and disruptors, boost their abilities with 17 kinds of powerup, and take on the formidable giant boss 'bots!
Your mission: infiltrate the malfunctioning Omnicorp facility and destroy all droids!
To get through the front door you'll need to use your unarmed Z-001 Virus Drone. Once inside you can use its transfer beam to implant virus control software inside an enemy droid.
You'll now be in full control of the enemy droid - and it's time to start shooting! Clear each level of enemy droids, using your new droid's weaponry or by transferring, and make your way to the exit.
Using your transfer beam you can take control of up to 8 droids. Switch between them and use their various abilities and weapons to help in your mission, clearing minefields, defeating armoured turrets and battling the fearsome GX-series Guardian droids.
Each droid had a security clearance level - collect transfer points to increase the strength of your transfer beam to take over higher level droids.
Starting with security level 1 and 2 droids like the G-series Guardbots and P-series Police droids, make your way up through M-series Military and A-series Assault droids, up to level 9 droids like the K999 Assassin!

The game received mixed reviews from critics, praising its art style and gameplay but calling its length short.
Gameplay
Droid Assault is heavily based on the gameplay of Paradroid. The game takes place in what is implied to be a spaceship where the player controls a basic model of robot. The player must take control of other robots in order to progress, but only if they have enough "transfer points" to hack into them. The old model then turns into an AI follower of the player and automatically targets enemies. The player can then change between any of the droids in their "robot army" at no cost. Ultimately, the player must face off against a boss robot that is stronger than usual.
Plot
The game lacks a story, but its setting is implied through textual descriptions of the various droids. The game takes place sometime in the future, with the droids being used for purposes ranging from civilian to military.
Reception
Droid Assault received mixed reviews from critics.
Silviu Stahie of Softpedia gave the game an 85/100, calling the concept "interesting" and the graphics beautiful, saying the only con was that sometimes the action on screen became too hectic.
Michael Krosta of 4Players gave the game a 66/100, concluding the game is "pleasantly" fast-paced and that the graphics are charming, but said that the levels became repetitive and the game itself didn't last long before its charm wore off.
Alec Meer of Rock, Paper, Shotgun called the game "more than enough pixel-robot goodness for the price" and a "defiantly old-school affair".
Totalbiscuit called the game "super fun" and "strongly recommended" the game in a review, though he criticized the control scheme as in need of improvement.

Pour franchir la porte d'entrée, vous devez utiliser votre drone Virus Z-001 non armé. Une fois à l'intérieur, vous pouvez utiliser son faisceau de transfert pour implanter un logiciel de contrôle du virus dans un droïde ennemi.
Vous aurez maintenant le contrôle total du droïde ennemi - et il sera temps de commencer à tirer ! Éliminez chaque niveau de droïdes ennemis, en utilisant les armes de votre nouveau droïde ou en les transférant, et dirigez-vous vers la sortie.
En utilisant votre faisceau de transfert, vous pouvez contrôler jusqu'à 8 droïdes. Basculez entre eux et utilisez leurs diverses capacités et armes pour vous aider dans votre mission: nettoyer les champs de mines, vaincre les tourelles blindées et combattre les redoutables droïdes Guardian de la série GX.
Chaque droïde avait un niveau de sécurité. Collectez les points de transfert pour augmenter la résistance de votre faisceau de transfert afin de prendre en charge des droïdes de niveau supérieur.
